How I Met Ashley…
My name is Ashley and I am serving as Treasurer this year! I am a sophomore here at UCF with a major in journalism.
I came to UCF in the Fall of 2015 and I joined Phi Lamb that same semester. I definitely did not come to college thinking I would join a sorority, for multiple reasons- mostly because I didn’t see myself fitting into the mold of what a “sorority girl” is. But after seeing a post on social media about a faith-based sorority, my interest was piqued. Although I was coming to college with quite a few of my friends from high school, I was eager to meet new people I could really connect and form bonds with. I decided to attend the recruitment week events and hope for the best.
On the way to the event on the first night of recruitment I felt nervous about what kind of girls would be in Phi Lamb- whether they would be friendly, open, and welcoming or standoffish and judgemental. When I arrived, I was so glad to see that the group was made up of insanely sweet girls. I started forming bonds with the other girls from the very first night and I couldn’t wait for the rest of the week’s events. I decided Phi Lamb was the place for me and the rest is history!
I’m so happy I made the decision to join Phi Lamb. I’ve met some of my best friends in the world through this sorority- girls I can laugh with, who are always up for a Chick Fil A date or study break at the library, who help me to grow in my faith. I believe that as Christians our greatest goal should be to show God’s love through the way we treat others. The purpose of Phi Lamb is to glorify God and make His name great, which is what we’re doing on campus every day through friendship, kindness, and humility. One of the strongest bonds on earth is the bond between sisters and Phi Lamb is an amazing way to form those bonds. Thank you for your interest in our sisterhood and I hope to see you at this Fall’s recruitment events!!!
Lots of Lamb love,
